RUTH JENETT SELLENRIEK
(9/3/1917-3/16/2009)



Ruth Jenett Sellenriek, age 91, passed away in the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO, on March 16, 2009 after a short battle with cancer.

Ruth was born September 3, 1917, in St. Louis, MO to Ernest and Hazel Stemme.

She spent most of her life in the Chesterfield area, where she was a life-long member of St. Johnís United Church of Christ.

She married Glenn Sellenriek of St. Louis, MO in 1941

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was an office secretary for the Parkway School District and a homemaker, and she enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn and sisters, Helen Dengel and Grace Beyers.

She is survived by her three children, daughter, Susie Anderson and husband, Gerald of Chesterfield, MO; son, Mark Sellenriek and wife, Danielle of Nixa, MO; and daughter, Patti Palmer and husband, Don of Arbela, MO. Ruthís grandchildren include Timothy, Matthew and Christopher Anderson, and Nathan, Benjamin and Samuel Sellenriek.

A memorial service to celebrate Ruthís life will be held at St. Johnís United Church of Christ in Chesterfield, MO on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dale L. Bartels officiating. Music will be provided by Ruth Notch, organist.

Memorial contributions in Ruthís name may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice organization and may be left at or mailed to Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main, Memphis, MO 63555. Inurnment will be in the St. Johnís United Church of Christ Cemetery in Chesterfield.

Local arrangements were handled by Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis chapel.
