Rev. Charles M. Fugate, 79, of Spring, TX, passed away Tuesday, March 31. 2009, in a Houston, TX area hospital.

Charles was born in Greentop, MO on July 1, 1929, the son of Glen and Vesta Louise (Huggans) Fugate.

Rev. Fugate was a Presbyterian minister numerous years primarily in Missouri and a veteran of the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict. Before answering Godís call to the ministry, Charles became a reporter for a weekly newspaper, the Reveille of Memphis, MO, state editor for a daily newspaper in Keokuk, IA and city editor for a daily newspaper in Newton, IA.

He is survived by his loving and devoted family, wife of 47 years, Arlene Reed Fugate; three sons, Mike, Tony and Matt: two loving daughters-in-law, Georgianna and Debbie; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Rush; brother, Glen Fugate, Jr.; six nephews; a dear friend, Robert Browning; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Private memorial services were held by the family.
