JEWEL (PECK) FLEMING
(9/29/1934-8/3/2009)



Jewel Emaline (Peck) Fleming, 74, of Quincy, IL, died Monday, August 3, 2009, in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, IL.

She was born September 29, 1934, in Scotland County, MO, a daughter of Charles Eldin and Ada Janett Gristy Peck.

On June 13, 1959, she married Phillip Richard Fleming in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2001.

She was a 1953 graduate of Memphis High School and graduated from Columbia, MO Christian College with an associate degree in arts in 1955. She graduated from Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy and was a registered physical therapist. She has worked at Blessing Hospital and the Quincy Public Schools as a physical therapist. She was a member of the Wee Kirk Chapel at Good Samaritan Home.

Survivors include two sons, Eric Fleming and his wife, Dee of Quincy, IL and Kyle Fleming and his wife, Shelley of Minnesota; a daughter, Jana Kline and her husband, Tony of Chicago, IL; five sisters, Verna Purvis, Mary Margret Russell, Joy Musgrove, JoAnna Shelley, Judy Michaels; a brother, Gerald Peck; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Carlos and Cecil Peck; and sister, Verlee Clark.

Services were held Thursday, August 6, 2009 in Harmony Cemetery with Rev. Mike Duffy conducting. Burial was in the Harmony Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the donorís choice. Messages may be sent to the web site www.hansen-spear.com. Arrangements were by Hansen-Spear Funeral Directors.
