DANNY GEORGE MEINHARDT

Danny George Meinhardt, 57, of Bennington, Kansas and formerly of Memphis, Missouri, died August 18, 2009 at his home in Bennington.

He was born March 5, 1952 in Bloomfield, Iowa to George and Lurla Riebel Meinhardt of Memphis, Missouri. He was a graduate of Scotland County High School, Class of 1970, in Memphis and the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.

He worked with Archer Daniel Midland in Illinois, later transferring to Kansas until his retirement. He worked in real estate development and was a principal owner of Golden Eagle Estates.

He is survived by his parents; two sons, George Logan Meinhardt of Salina, Kansas and Adam Travis Meinhardt of Salt Lake City, Utah; his friend, Deborah Scheibler, of Bennington, Kansas. Other survivors include two brothers, Donovan Meinhardt and his wife, Judi, of Colo, Iowa, Kim Meinhardt and Karen Shanley of Memphis, Missouri; a sister, Connie Briddle and her husband, Gary, of Kirksville, Missouri; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otto and Mary Meinhardt and Clark and Lucille Riebel.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 2 P.M. at Ryan Mortuary & Crematory in Salina, Kansas, followed by cremation.

A graveside memorial service was held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri, with Brother Jack Sumption officiating and Gary Briddle, vocalist. A visitation was held on Tuesday at the Memphis Funeral Home.
