Mary Lee Jones, 79, of Lancaster, MO, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 5, 2009.

The daughter of Linzy Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Wilson) Stewart, she was born on November 2, 1929 in Hamilton County, IN.

She was united in marriage to Delbert M. Jones in Bakers Corner, IN on November 2, 1947 and to this union five sons were born, Delbert Eugene, David LeRoy, James Marley, Stewart Allen and Robert Bryan.

Survivors include her husband, Delbert M. Jones of Lancaster, MO; her sons, Delbert Eugene Jones and wife, Lavonna of Pulaski, IA, David LeRoy Jones and wife, Sue of Lancaster, MO, James Marley and wife, Peggy of Lebanon, IN, Stewart Allen Jones and wife, Jean of Indianapolis, IN and Robert Bryan Jones and wife, Cheryl of Indianapolis, IN; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; one sister Margaret Musgrove and husband, Loran of Memphis, MO; one brother, Eugene Stewart and wife, Mary of Indianapolis, IN; other family members and many good friends.

Her parents; one grandchild, Melleasa Ann Jones and two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Allen Jones and Talan Kristopher Willis, preceded Mary in death.

Mary was a very devoted member of the Downing Baptist Church of Downing, MO as long as her health permitted. Her joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother and spending time with her family and friends.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan, IN at 1:00 p.m. with David Barton, pastor of the Downing Baptist Church, Downing, MO, officiating. Special CD musical selections of “Far Banks of Jordan” and other family selections were performed. Pallbearers were her sons and grandsons. A visitation was held two hours prior to the funeral services. Burial was in the Oakland Lawn Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN. Memorials have been established for the family. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, MO.
