CHARLES JUNIOR BUFORD

Charles Junior Buford, 71, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Downing, MO, on Monday, November 16, 2009.

The son of Roy Russel and Vera Opal (Sumpter) Buford, he was born on October 9, 1938 in Downing, MO.

He attended Dutchy District 17 Country School northwest of Downing, MO.

Survivors include his brother, Danny D. Buford and wife, Nancy of Downing, MO; two step-sisters, Roberta Small of Memphis, MO and Juanita Cox of Ft. Worth, TX; two nephews, Danny Buford and wife, Dawn of Downing, MO and their family, Naomi Bowens and husband, Royce of Downing, MO, Megan Buford of Glenwood, MO, Savanna Buford of Downing, MO, and Takoda Reese of Downing, MO; Richard Buford and wife, Jennifer of Downing, MO and their family, Gina Youngman of Downing, MO, Tricia Buford of Memphis, MO, Austin Buford of Downing, MO, and Alexis Buford of Downing, MO; several step-nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and other family members.

His parents and step-brother, Donnie Buford in 2008 precede Charles in death.

Charles lived all of his life in the Downing, MO area. He worked for Bob Kelso in Downing, MO for a number of years, Beeler Motor Company in Lancaster, MO and also worked as an auto technician for a number of other stations in this area.

Funeral services will be held at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Sonny Smyser of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in the Downing Cemetery in Downing, MO. Special taped selections will be provided for music. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services. Memorials have been established for Downing Fire Department. Arrangements are under the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster and Downing, MO.
