M. IRIS CUNNINGHAM (12/19/1920 - 11/19/2009)
K. KENNETH CUNNINGHAM (11/26/1911 - 11/1/1996)

K. Kenneth Cunningham died on November 1, 1996, in St. Louis, Missouri and M. Iris Cunningham died on November 19, 2009 in Bowling Green, Missouri.

K. Kenneth Cunningham was born on November 26, 1911 at his parentís home in Memphis, Missouri. M. Iris Lane Cunningham was born on December 19, 1920 at her grandparentsí home in Greensburg, Missouri. Kenneth and Iris owned a farm near Memphis, Missouri, and lived there until 1966, when they moved to St. Louis.

Kenneth and Iris were married on April 17, 1941. To this union were born two daughters, Jane Ann Cunningham Woods, Bowling Green, Missouri and Carol Sue Cunningham, Knox City, Missouri, who survive. In addition to their daughters, Kenneth and Iris are survived by their granddaughter, Stefanie Griffith Davis, Bowling Green, Missouri and two great-grandchildren, Rebecca Griffith and Toby Griffith, Bowling Green, Missouri; Irisí sisters, Dorotha Lane Teter, Quincy, Illinois and Kay Mayhew, Wexford, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Dale Lane, Jefferson City, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews and their families.

Iris began taking college correspondence courses in the 1950s, then went to summer school at Kirksville State Teachers College (now Truman State University) to complete her bachelorsí degree in elementary education. Iris continued her education and received her masterís degree in elementary education from Kirksville in 1966. While she was obtaining her degrees, she taught second grade at Memphis Elementary School.

In 1966, Iris and Kenneth moved to the St. Louis area where Iris continued her education. She received an advanced degree as a reading specialist and enjoyed many years of teaching in the Pattonville School District in the St. Louis area.

After selling the farm in Memphis, Kenneth began a job with Carter Carburetor in St. Louis and worked there until his retirement. After Iris and Kenneth retired from their respective professions, they spent many happy years together in St. Louis. They traveled throughout the United States and spent winters in Florida, California and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

It was Kennethís and Irisís wish to have a combined memorial service at Gerthís Funeral Home in Memphis, Missouri. The memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.
