CORDONNA MARIE PARRISH
(12/20/1920 – 12/15/2009)



Cordonna Marie Parrish, 88, of Kahoka, MO, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.

She was born on December 20, 1920 in rural Clark County, MO, the daughter of Carl and Mary Howell McCarty. On October 12, 1940, Cordonna was united in marriage to Carson F. Parrish. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1992.

She graduated from the Luray High School.

Cordonna was a life-long resident of Clark County and resided around the Bethlehem community, near Luray, for most of her life. She was a teacher at Hogan School while her husband was in the service.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served as pianist for many years.

Cordonna and her husband Carson farmed in the Bethlehem community until 1984 when Carson’s health forced them to move to Kahoka.

Cordonna enjoyed gardening, crocheting and collecting hymnals. She loved animals.

She is survived by one son, Wesley Parrish and his wife Barbara of Kahoka;, one daughter, Wanda Parrish of Memphis, MO; four granddaughters, Amy Fogarty and her husband Scott of Hamilton, IL, Anita Arnold and her husband Lance of Kahoka, MO, Rhonda Herr and her husband Donnie of Sigourney, IA and Pam Oilar and her husband Steve of Farmington, IA; eight great-grandchildren, Justin and Megan Oilar, Donald Herr III, Logan, Luke and Landon Arnold and Evan and Austin Fogarty; three sisters-in-law, Florence Parrish of Nauvoo, IL, Louise Parrish of Ft. Madison, IA and Kay Hewitt and her husband Albert of Henrietta, MO; a special cousin, Almeta Egbert of Kahoka, MO; as well as other nieces; nephews; cousins; and special granddogs, Reject, Big Girl and Little Dog.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Neva Adamson and one brother-in-law, Jim Adamson.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Rev. Jim Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
