STUART M. MARTIN
(8/18/1947 – 12/25/2009)



Stuart M. Martin, 62 of rural Lancaster, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri after a long battle with cancer.

The son of Billy Max and Ova Dorine (Kinnamon) Martin, Stuart was born on August 18, 1947 in Bloomfield, Iowa. Stuart grew up on the family farm, northeast of Lancaster, Missouri and attended Davis County High School in Bloomfield, Iowa.

Stuart is survived by Sue Martin of Downing, Missouri; eight children, Teresa Martin-Roberts and husband, Jay of Ada, Oklahoma, Tammy Miner of Kirksville, Missouri, Bill Bankson and wife, Deann of Hamilton, Kansas, Tami Weilbrenner and husband, John of Bloomfield, Iowa, Tracy Johnston of Packwood, Iowa, Brandy Lowrimore and husband, Kevin of Krum, Texas, Jeremiah Martin and wife, Brook of Hurst, Texas and Becky Strunk and husband, Matthew of Bloomfield, Iowa; 17 grandchildren, Tierney Roberts, Darienne Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Natasha Roberts, Cecily Roberts, Seth Miner, Dalton Miner, Chance Bankson, Colby Bankson, Holly Lee, Alicia Johnston, Breanna Lowrimore, Kyler Lowrimore, Miah Martin, Annjel Martin, Eian Martin and Kierstin Martin; his mother, Ova Dorine Martin of Bloomfield, Iowa; two brothers, Lynn Martin and wife, Aletha of South Amana, Iowa and Edwin Martin and wife, Kim of Marengo, Iowa; one sister, Nancy McElroy and husband, Donnie of Queen City, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and other family members.

His father, Billy Max Martin in September 2001; one brother, Dennis Martin in February 1983 and one nephew, Ashley Colin McElroy in December 1996 precede Stuart in death.

Stuart worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for several years, was a row crop and livestock farmer and later worked on construction of Lan-Dow Buildings for a number of years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed it as long as his health permitted.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, pastor of that church officiating. Special CD selections will be “Amazing Grace” and “Troublesome Waters”. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Northeast Missouri or to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
