SCR-I Girls Track Team Finishes Fifth at Clark County Event

The Scotland County girls track team had 14 medalists at the Clark County Track meet on April 17th to earn fifth place overall.

The scoring was led by four third place finishes. Melissa Cotton took third in the high jump, clearing 48. Loren Smith was third in the shotput with a toss of 33 and the 4x800 meter relay team of Skyler Alderton, Anna Duley, Kiley Frazier and Kelsey Frazier was third in a time of 12:19. Kiley Frazier took third place in the 800 meter run.

Smith also finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 897. Katie Miller was sixth in the event, clearing 822.

The Lady Tigers picked up seven points combined in the 3,200 meter run with Duley taking fifth in a time of 14:17.3 followed by Clara Nettelbladt in sixth in 15:34.8.

The girls 4x100 meter relay team of Courtney Jackson, Cotton, Monica Weidenbenner and Kristie Parrish was fifth in a time of 1:05.6.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Cali Holt, Alderton and the Frazier sisters was sixth in a time of 5:04.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Augusta Purvis, Kelsey Frazier, Jackson and Holt was sixth in a time of 2:19.

Purvis earned sixth place in the triple jump with a leap of 28 and was sixth in the long jump clearing 133.

Alderton took seventh in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:13.
