Lady Tigers Drop Conference Opener to Clark County

Scotland County scored first but Clark County crossed the plate at least once in every inning after the first en route to an 11-1 victory on September 14th in Kahoka.

Loren Smith drove in Elizabeth Duzan with an RBI single in the top of the first to put SCR-I on top 1-0.

Clark County took advantage of an SCR-I error to tie the game 1-1 in the bottom of the second. The Lady Indians went ahead for good with a huge two-out rally in the third inning. Clark County strung together three hits and a pair of walks to make it 3-1.

The Lady Indians made it 6-1 in the fourth inning and tacked on four more in the fifth. Briana Alderton ended the game with a walk-off double that scored Hanna Trump to make it 11-1 and end the game by the 10-run rule.

Megan Creek took the loss for the Lady Tigers. She gave up six runs, three earned, in four innings of work. The freshman allowed nine hits and three walks while striking out one. Kelly Lister pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing five runs, three earned on five hits and two walks. She struck out one.

Creek was 1-1 with a pair of walks while Smith went 1-3 with an RBI.

Brooke Wheeler picked up the win for Clark County. She allowed one run on two hits while walking four. She struck out five.

Scotland County dropped to 5-4 on the year with the loss while Clark County improved to 4-6.
