PSC Sets Hearing Schedule In Atmos Energy Rate Case

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission is scheduled to begin formal evidentiary hearings in mid-August in a natural gas rate case filed by Atmos Energy Corporation (Atmos). Hearings are scheduled for August 18-27, 2010 in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, Jefferson City.

These hearings will be held in a building that meets accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. If any person needs additional accommodations to participate in the hearings, please call the Missouri Public Service Commission’s hotline at 1-800-392-4211 (voice) or Relay Missouri at 711 before the hearings.

The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold local public hearings to receive customer comment on the rate proposal. That schedule will be announced when dates, times and locations have been finalized.

On December 28, 2009, Atmos filed a natural gas rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual natural gas operating revenues by approximately $6.4 million.

The effect of the company’s rate proposal on the non-gas portion of a residential customer’s monthly bill would be:

District Current Proposed

NEMO District $20.61 $33.23

SEMO District $13.92 $21.27

WEMO District $19.43 $29.99

Atmos serves approximately 56,590 natural gas customers in Missouri.
