Farm & Home True Value Spruces Up SCR-I With Paint Donation

A fresh coat of paint brightens up any room, and this summer Scotland County R-I will receive up to 40 gallons of paint to refresh its learning environment, SCR-I was selected as the winner of a paint grant through Memphis Farm & Home’s partnership with True Value Foundation’s “Painting a Brighter Future” program. A True Value Foundation paint grant helps renew an atmosphere that sets a positive tone for educators to teach and children to learn.

Dave Shalley accepts a paint donation from Rayburn Snell made by Memphis Farm & Home True Value.

Partnering with True Value Foundation, Memphis Farm & Home, notified area schools of the grant last fall and encouraged them to apply. Manager Rayburn Snell delivered the paint to SCR-I Superintendent Dave Shalley during a special ceremony May 24th.

SCR-I will use the paint to provide much-needed makeovers in the district. Hundreds of students will benefit from the brighter, newly painted rooms.

“Through True Value Foundation’s Painting a Brighter Future program, we were able to help Scotland County R-I and give back to the community that we love to serve,” said Snell. “The donation will not only save the school money, but more importantly will create an environment that fosters learning, inspires creativity and builds community.”
