Prank Could Prove Costly For Group of Local Ladies
Ten area women are facing class B misdemeanor charges of trespassing in the first degree following a June 6th incident in northern Scotland County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Consolidated Public Water Supply District #1 water tower north of Memphis. At 8:03 p.m. the county dispatcher received a call reporting several individuals on the water tower.
The individuals, ranging in age from 17 to 19, were located on the water tower. They informed investigators they were simply going to take a photograph of themselves atop the tower. All 10 were issued a citation for trespassing.
The ladies all have been assigned a July 6 court date with Judge Karl DeMarce in the Scotland County Associate Circuit Court at 9:00 a.m.
A class B misdemeanor is subject to a fine of up to $500 or up to six months in the county jail.
