Motorist Arrested After Nearly Running Over Partygoers

A Memphis man is facing numerous charges following an incident at the conclusion of the Old Lake Bash in Memphis on Sunday morning.

According to the Memphis Police Department, Donald Hurley, 27, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. He was ticketed for careless and imprudent driving, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

According to witnesses, Hurley allegedly showed up at the outdoor concert and was complaining that the music was too loud and could be heard all the way in town.

Reportedly when his complaints fell on deaf ears he angrily departed the event, stopping in his van to confront organizers near the front gate.

Hurley allegedly put the van in reverse, spun out and rapidly backed into the park’s exit area, endangering dozens of patrons who were leaving at that time.

The law enforcement presence at the event was able to quickly get Hurley stopped and subdued before transporting him to the Scotland County Sheriff’s office for booking.
