Memphis Cinema to Reopen This Weekend

Fall has arrived and it’s time for movies to begin at the Memphis Cinema. The theatre will open this Friday, October 8, with “Toy Story 3”. Other movies slated for the month of October are October 15: “Grown Ups”; October 22: “Despicable Me”; and October 29: “Eclipse”.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show to start at 7:00 p.m. Prices will remain the same as last year. To maintain the low admission price, we rely on volunteers to collect admissions and help in the concession stand. If you would like to help, please contact Jo Ann Peters at 660-465-8943 or Kim Smith at 660-342-7033.

We have other events coming to the Memphis Theatre this fall. The Truman University Franklin Street Singers are booked for Thursday, November 4th. We are also anticipating a visit from Elvis Wade on November 11th.

The Evening on Broadway Singers are preparing for a Christmas production entitled “Watt Family Christmas?” to be presented December 10th and 11th. The Community Choir is practicing their cantata, “The Star Still Shines”, every Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. The cantata will be presented on Sunday, December 12th.

Come enjoy the movie this weekend as we start our new season.
