A Rutledge boy was killed and another was seriously injured in a two-vehicle traffic accident in Knox County on October 27th. The crash occurred at 7:15 p.m. on Route M, two miles south of Rutledge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Larry D. Hoover, 9, was killed when the mini dirt bike he was a passenger on was struck by a northbound 1997 Dodge pickup driven by 18-year-old Joseph B. Martin of Rutledge.
