LYNDA E. ROBINSON

Lydna E. Robinson, 71, of Millstadt, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Bellville, IL.

Lynda was born January 10, 1939 in Memphis, MO to Arden W. and Iva (Riley) Eager who for many years owned and operated an insurance and abstract business in Memphis. She graduated from Memphis High School in 1956 and attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville for one year before graduating from Barnes Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO, in 1960.

She began her career as a registered nurse in 1960, retiring from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Bellville, IL. She held positions as staff nurse, charge nurse, headnurse, assistant director of nursing and parish nurse.

Lynda was a member of the Union United Methodist Church in Belville, IL, United Methodist Women, Retired Nurses Association of St. Clair County, Miriam Circle and Jubilation Ringers.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas M. Spivey; her second husband, Donald W. Robinson; her parents; and her brothers, William R. Eager and John A. Eager.

Surviving are her son, Andrew A. (Lauren) Robinson; granddaughter Kennedy A. Robinson of Bellville, IL; step-granddaughter Renee (Roger) Rather of Houston, TX; brother James L. (Sue) Eager of St. Louis, MO; brother-in-law Kenneth (Sylvia) Robinson of Tucson, AZ; nephew Timothy J. (Julie) Eager and great-niece Claire of Niskayuana, NY; nieces Gina (Doug) Purdue and great-niece Amanda of Las Vegas, NV, and Leslie Eager of Chapel Hill, NC; and cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held on February 13, 2010 in Bellville, IL with private interment at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
