CLEO DORIS WOOD

Cleo Doris Woods, 81, of Memphis, Missouri, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis.

She was born April 21, 1928 in Miller Township of Scotland County, Missouri, to Orla Lee and Bessie Walker Mathes.

She attended Crow and Jayne schools, completing her education after the eighth grade.

She married Leo Allan Woods on June 27, 1948 at the Methodist Church in Memphis, Missouri.

Cleo was a housewife and also worked at the glove factory and the D&C dime store in Memphis.

She is survived by her husband, Leo, of Memphis; a daughter, Mona Rose Leedom, of Coralville, Iowa; a son, Milo Allen Woods, of Unionville, Missouri; five grandchildren: Jerry Woods, Barbara Reed, Mark Woods, Kelli Woods, Marla Grosvenor; two step-grandchildren: Rusty Leedom, Kim Kettler and her husband, Kelly; ten great-grandchildren: Monica, Ryley and Grant Woods, Justin and Dominic Woods, Iva Woods, Cambria and Colton Woods, Jessica and Ryan Grosvenor; and a great-great-grandchild, Kelby Kettler. Other survivors include a brother, Wayne Mathes, of Ankadelphia, Arkansas; two sisters: Alice Harvey and Lela Trueblood, both of Memphis, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Golda Seybold, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Leo Woods; two great-grandsons, James and Travis Woods; two sisters: Pauline Hohstadt, Evaun Arnold and four brothers: Henry Lee Mathes, Harold Mathes, Raymond Mathes and Dale Mathes.

Graveside funeral services with internment will be held Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri with Reverend Charles Hammack officiating. Memorials may be made to the Memphis Cemetery and can be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
