STANLEY FOGLE
(4/25/1933 - 5/6/2010)



Stanley “Vaughn” Fogle, 77 of Memphis, Missouri, died May 6, 2010 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, IA. The son of William Stanley and Lela Mary Neil Fogle, he was born April 25, 1933 in Kirksville, Missouri.

On December 10, 1955 he was united in marriage to Shirley Ann McGhee in Ottumwa, IA. They shared forty-eight years of marriage before she preceded him in death on September 15, 2003. To this union two daughters were born, Lesa and Valerie.

Vaughn was a member of the First Christian Church of Memphis, the Memphis Masonic Lodge No. 16, and of the VFW of Memphis, Mo. He was a graduate of Scotland County High School, Class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany as a mechanic. When he returned from the Army, he worked twenty-two years at John Morrell and Company and also began farming northwest of Memphis. For ten years prior to retirement, he worked in Kansas City in security.

Vaughn was a family man who enjoyed the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, the gun and dog sales, riding motorcycles, going to the casino with the boys, shooting trap, gun trading, and spending time with his friends and family.

Others that preceded in death were his parents Stanley and Lela and his two brothers- in-law John Rifenberry and Wayne McGhee.

He is survived by his daughters, Lesa and husband Hal Frymoyer of Bloomfield, IA and Valerie Bair and fiancé Patrick Hines of Memphis, MO. Grandchildren include Steven and wife Deb Frymoyer of Bloomfield, IA, Alisha and husband Josh Smith of Cascade, IA, Jared Frymoyer of Bloomfield, IA, and Jessica Bair of Memphis, MO. Great-grandchildren include Madison Newland and Paige Frymoyer of Bloomfield, IA. Brother and sister in-laws include Dean and Cleo Giltner of Bladensburg, IA, Nancy Rifenberry of Ottumwa, IA, Gary and Reva Gilliland of Ottumwa, IA, Kay Irwin of Agency, IA, Jane McGhee of Ottumwa, IA and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Scotland County Cancer Fund or the V.F.W. in Memphis and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555.

Masonic services were held on Sunday evening, May 9, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services were held May 10, 2010 at the Payne Funeral Home in Memphis at 10:00 a.m. Brother Larry Smith officiated. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the V.F.W Post # 4958 of Memphis providing full military rites.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
