BETTY LOU GREEN
(3/11/1928 - 9/13/2010)



Betty Lou Green, 82, of Memphis died Monday evening, September 13, 2010, at Scotland County Hospital in Memphis.

She was born the daughter of Alfred Jackson and Lydia Emilie (Klampe) Dial on March 11, 1928 in Memphis.

Betty attended the Memphis schools.

She married Charles H. Green on July 15, 1944 in Kahoka. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1989.

The Greens lived south of Memphis and farmed until 1968, when they moved to a home west of the airport.

Betty was an avid piano and organ player. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Eugene and Ronald Keith Dial, and a sister Evelyn Lindsay.

She is survived by her children, Kathy and husband Bill Robertson of Wyaconda and Richard and wife Ann Green of Memphis; grandchildren, Charlotte Robertson of Philadelphia, PA, and fiancé David Schneider, Brandi and husband Stephen Jerome of Greentop, Kate and husband Jeff Cline of Memphis, and Rich and wife Christina Green of Tracy, Iowa; great grandchildren, Nova Cline, Matthew Jerome, Charlie Green, Penelope Cline, Isabelle Jerome, and Hannah Green.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, September 17, at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Chaplain Carol Davenport of Hospice of Northeast Missouri officiating. Angela Westhoff played the piano during the service. Jeff Cline, Rich Green, Brian Dial, Joe Graham, Matt Tinker, and Stephen Jerome served as pall bearers. Jerry Grubb and David Scheinder were honorary pallbearers. Interment was in the Memphis Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Memphis, Hospice of NE Missouri, or the Scotland County Cancer Fund and can be left at or mailed to the Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main St., Memphis, MO 63555.

Arrangements were under the direction of Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis chapel.
