Shaw’s Career-High 30 Points Push SCR-I to League Win

Jamie Shaw was virtually unstoppable on Tuesday night in Memphis as she poured in a career-high 30 points to lead Scotland County to a 71-44 win over North Shelby in Tri-Rivers Conference hoops action.

The junior forward scored 12 points in the first quarter. Teammate Ashley Tague added nine points during the key stretch that saw SCR-I pull ahead 22-4.

North Shelby got a little more offense in the second period but it wasn’t enough to offset the Shaw onslaught. She added nine points before the half to push the lead to 39-11 at the break. Aimee Dale, Anna Duley and Cali Holt added field goals during the 17-7 run to put the game out of reach in just 16 minutes of play.

Duley knocked down a three pointer and Dale put in a pair of field goals during the third period to pick up some of the scoring slack for Shaw who “slumped” to just three points in the quarter as North Shelby trimmed the lead to 55-30.

Tague and Shaw got back into the flow in the fourth quarter, combining for 10 points before heading to the bench with the game well under control as SCR-I rolled to the 71-44 win.

SCR-I improved to 10-6 on the year and 1-1 in the TRC. Shaw finished with 30 points to lead all scorers. Tague added 18 points while Dale finished with eight.
