Rams Ride Big Inning to Victory Over SCR-I Tigers

A 1-1 tie after one inning quickly slipped away from Scotland County courtesy of a couple big innings by the home team Schuyler County as the Rams rolled to a 20-5 win in five innings at Lancaster on April 15th.

Brock Bondurant reached on an error to open the game. After stealing second he came around to score on an RBI single by Harley Stone to put the Tigers ahead 1-0.

The Rams tied the score in the bottom of the inning before tallying four times off starter Dakota Wells to make it 5-1 after two innings.

Schuyler County batted around in the third frame touching up Wells, and reliever Rod Sears for a total of 10 runs to put the game out of reach.

Andrew Mathes provided a little excitement for SCR-I in the bottom of the frame as he connected on a two-run home run. Drew Miller reached on an error and after a walk to Trevor Harris, Wells delivered an RBI single to make the score 15-4.

The Tigers plated a lone run in the bottom of the fifth but it wasn’t enough to keep the game from ending prematurely via the 10-run rule.

Stone was 2-3 at the plate with an RBI. Mathes was 1-3 with his first home run of the season.
