Lady Tigers Finish Third at Scotland County Relays

The Scotland County girls varsity track squad racked up 113 points in Thursday’s home meet but had to settle for third place behind Putnam County (163 points) and Knox County (130 points).

Elizabeth Duzan earned first place points with a top finish in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 18.45 seconds.

Augusta Purvis finished second in the long jump at 15’ 1” as well as the triple jump, covering 30’4”.

Anna Duley finished second in the 3,200-meter run with teammate Schuyler Alderton in third place. The team’s other second place points came in the 800-meter run with a strong showing by Tahnee Forquer. She just edged teammate Kiley Frazier who was third in a time of 2:55.14.

Loren Smith and Katie Miller earned third and fourth place respectively in both the shot put and discus events for SCR-I.

Duley earned third place in the 1,600 meter run ahead of younger sister Abbey who was fifth.

Duzan racked up more points for the squad with a third place showing in the 300 meter hurdles as well as in the high jump. Teammate Ashely Tague was fourth in the high jump. Both girls cleared 4’5”. Tague earned third place points in the 400-meter dash, finishing in a time of 1:12.31.

Anna Hirner was fourth in the long jump and also finished sixth in the 100-meter dash.

The SCR-I relay squads earned third in the 4x800 meter race, fifth in the 4x200 relay and third in the 4x400 relay.
