QU Coach to Host Hoops Camp in Memphis

Marty Bell the men’s head coach and Athletic Director for Quincy University is coming to Memphis with his staff to host a boy’s basketball camp at the Scotland County Health & Fitness Center Monday, July 26th through Wednesday, July 28th.

Bell became Quincy University’s 14th head coach in 2003 and was named Athletic Director in 2007. He has a 126-82 overall record and last year marked the fourth year to make it to the NCAA Division II Tournament. 2009-10 was the first year that the Quincy University Hawks made it to the Sweet Sixteen. In 2010 Coach Bell was named Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year.

Coach Bell and his staff will be offering a three-day camp from 9 a.m. to noon. The camp will be focusing on fundamental skills and enhancing ball handling. There is a $75 fee and is open to anyone entering 7th grade through the 12th grade.

Registrations can be picked up at the Fitness Center, Scotland County Pharmacy or by calling Debbie Blessing at 660-465-7184 or 660-341-0928. There will be a registration at the Fitness Center from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010.
