SCR-I Softball Drops to Class 1 Status in 2010

While Putnam County will remain a key obstacle in Scotland County’s battle for a softball conference title, the perennial district champs will no longer stand in the way of the Lady Tigers efforts to advance to the state playoffs.

Scotland County has been designated a Class 1 school for softball status, dropping it into district play with Novinger, LaPlata and Brashear as well as Knox County, Marion County, North Shelby and Canton.

Knox County Athletic Director Allen Garrett indicated Edina will host the Class 1 District 11 tournament later this fall.

Putnam County with Tri-Rivers Conference foes Milan, and Schuyler County, as well as former TRC opponent Clark County, along with South Shelby and Highland will make up the Class 2 District 14 tournament.
