Ministerial Alliance to Host Benefit Auction for Food Pantry
The Scotland County Ministerial Alliance is excited to share information about the upcoming auction to benefit the Food Pantry Building Fund. The project has been on going for a year and a half at this point. This project has been done as funding is available, and God has been good in moving hearts and minds of local companies and people to enable us to come this far. Our hope is that we will be able to complete it in time for our joint Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the SCR-I elementary school gym.
Local businesses and residents have been generous in their donations for the auction which will include diverse items such as gift certificates at local restaurants, a 6-month family membership at the Fitness Center, a Play Station Three, Blu Tooth, a Money Jar, a Blue Ray DVD movie, antique dishes, an Ella Ewing commemorative plate, quilts such as an embroidered quilt, a hand quilted quilt and pieced quilts and comforters, embroidered pillowcases and flour sack tea towel sets, a walnut hand-made occasional table, a barn quilt, a decorative chair, men's and women's caps, candles, dog food, antifreeze, oil change and tire rotation, towel racks, work gloves, paint, tanning certificates, a dozen roses, old church cookbooks as well as church hymnals, a 54 inch ceiling fan and light, other craft items, etc. Many businesses have made financial donations as well.
Come to the Food Pantry building located north of St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Highway 15 on Saturday, April 9th. The auction will start at 10 AM and will be called by Junior Fox. Viewing will begin at 9 AM. Also available will be a bake sale conducted by ladies of the churches to be held in the Rotary Tent that will be on the property.
