Gorin R-III to Host Annual Carnival, Fundraiser

Friday, May 6, 2011 the doors will open to a fun-filled, family evening when the Gorin R-III School District hosts its annual school carnival. A meal of maidrites, walking tacos, or hot dogs can be purchased beginning at 5 p.m. Homemade desserts will also be served.

The gym will open at 5:30 with a variety of games on display including cake/stuffed animal walk, balloon darts, Wheel of Fortune, candy guess, duck pond, ring toss, dime pitch, and many more. Game tickets can be purchased for 10 cents each and punch cards can be redeemed at the prize table.

Following the games will be a raffle and 50/50 drawing. Raffle tickets are now on sale and may be purchased from any Gorin R-III student or by coming by the district office. The raffle grand prize is $50 cash. Collection for the 50/50 drawing will take place the night of the carnival and may be purchased at the ticket table.

Following the coronation of the king & queen and prince & princess the auction will begin. David Jackson will be auctioning a Wal-Mart gift certificate, Sam's Club gift certificate, Gateway Arch Riverboat tickets, Schlitterbahn Waterpark tickets, Living History Farms passes, Six Flags passes, St. Louis Botanical Gardens passes, Shepherd of the Hills passes, Silver Dollar City passes, J's Food gift certificates, Steve's Family Dining gift card, Breadeaux Pizza gift cards, savings bonds, Ayerco gift card, an autographed photo of Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, St. Louis Cardinals mini bat autographed by Mark McGwire, baseball autographed by St. Louis Cardinal pitcher Ryan Franklin, coin sets, propane refills, as well as many other items.

The district would appreciate donations of cakes for the cake walk, desserts for the food stand, and glassware for the dime pitch. Your support of our school carnival is greatly appreciated.
