Award Winning Kid's Music Band to Play in Memphis
On Wednesday, July 13, Scotland County residents will once again reap the benefits of living between St. Louis and Chicago. Alex and the Kaleidoscope Band, a children's music band from Philadelphia, PA, will make a stop in Memphis to play a free evening show at 6 p.m. on the Courthouse Lawn.
The band is being presented by the Scotland County Memorial Library along with business sponsors Main Street Café; Scotland County Abstract and Title; Scotland County Pharmacy; April S. Wilson, Attorney at Law; Harlo Donelson, DDS; Laura the Tax Lady; Payne Funeral Chapel; The Print Shop; Shelter Insurance-Monty Mumford; and Cook's Mens Store.
Alex and the Kaleidoscope Band play regularly at the Chicago Children's Museum and at numerous libraries, schools and other venues in the northeast and recently added shows in St. Louis to their schedule. The band has received over fourteen awards for excellence in children's entertainment including BEST SONG FOR CHILDREN from the Independent Music Awards, Parents' Choice Foundation Recommendation, multiple Children's Music Web awards, iParenting Media Award, KIDS FIRST! Endorsement, Parent-to-Parent Adding Wisdom Awards, and multiple Film Advisory Board Awards of Excellence.
Lyrics for the music focus on self-awareness and appreciation of the world around us. While geared towards younger children, the music can be appreciated by listeners of all ages. The library and business sponsors hope that the whole family will come out to enjoy the show!
