Clatt to be Inducted in 4-H Hall of Fame on Sunday

Forty-six exceptional volunteers from 35 counties, including the late Deny Clatt of Scotland County, will be inducted into the Missouri 4-H Hall of Fame on Sunday, August 14 at 4:00 p.m. at the Youth Building Cafeteria on the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. and families and friends are invited to join in recognizing Missouri's 4-H outstanding leaders at the ceremony and reception.

Missouri 4-H and the Missouri 4-H Foundation recognize individuals who have created a legacy of service and dedication to 4-H, by honoring them with membership in the Missouri 4-H Hall of Fame. On average, 4-H Hall of Fame members have devoted 33 years of service to 4-H; in 2010, Hall of Fame inductees together logged more than 1,676 years of volunteer work.

The induction ceremony is held annually at the Missouri State Fair. Each inductee (or their surviving family members, if the award is given posthumously) is recognized and presented with a plaque. Fellow club members, families and friends of the inductees are invited to attend the ceremony and reception.

Counties nominate inductees for their exceptional legacy of contributing to the lives of Missouri 4-H members and the overall 4-H program. Because some outstanding 4-H advocates have supported 4-H in more than one county, or have worked with state programs, the Missouri 4-H Foundation may also nominate an at-large inductee.

The Missouri 4-H Hall of Fame is the lifetime volunteer service award. Nominees must have at least 20 years of volunteer service. One inductee is selected per county.
