Beta Sorority to Host 30th Annual Christmas Bazaar

The 30th annual Christmas Bazaar sponsored by Epsilon Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi of Memphis, MO will be held Saturday, December 3rd at the Scotland County High School from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Over 140 tables have been reserved by craft exhibitors from the Tri State area and beyond. You will see a lot of new exhibitors this year along with our faithful exhibitors from years past.

The sorority will sponsor a food stand all day. Doughnuts and coffee will be available in the morning. Lunch will be hot dogs, chili dogs, ham sandwiches, chili, chips, pie, cake, tea, milk, coffee, soft drinks, bottled water and hot chocolate.

Some of our exhibitors have been with us since the start in 1981. There will be a large variety of different crafts this year; kettle corn, jewelry, books, cookies, home baked items, candies, wood items, knitted scarves, elk sticks, candles, quilts, table runners, place mats, cloth items, button dolls, tin snowman, rugs, sewing machines and repair, purses, rugs, personalized items, pecans, flower arrangements, scrapbooking items, sweatshirts, clothing, ceramics, Christmas ornaments, wreaths, yard decorations, edible bird houses, wreath creations (made from natural grains, flowers, grasses), doll clothes, children's accessories, gloves, goat milk soap and handcream, rag bag purses, medal garden art, aprons, canned fruit fillings, hair extensions, monogrammed and other personalized items, baby blankets, baby accessories, decorated saw blades, personalized tiles, vases with button flowers, personalized wood items, Discovery Toys, Tupperware, Princess House, At Home American (homewares), Jafra Cosmetics, Home Interior, Stanley Home Products, Fuller Brush, Watkins Products, Pampered Chef, Butterfly items, Primitive Creations, Scentsy, Thirty-One, Avon, Premier Jewelry, Usborne Books, Eco Friendly soy wax candles and Mary Kay.

Proceeds from the bazaar go for community betterment. (3) $300 ($900) scholarships were given to three seniors; Skyler Alderton, Augusta Purvis and Shelby Westhoff; donations to families due to sickness ($300); Bazaar helpers ($425) including FCA, FBLA, FCCLA and Alpha Epsilon Sigma and janitor; Spelling Bee dictionaries ($45.50), second grade Pre-Spelling Bee winner was Morgan Blessing and Sadie Davis was third through sixth grade elementary winner; SCAPP ($100); Dolly Parton Imagination Library ($105); Sr. boys breakfast, our share ($107.59) St. John's Thanksgiving Dinner ($100); SC Care Center birthday party ($50); Santa's Helpers ($100); SC Nutrition Site ($500); SC playground equipment ($50); and SC Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry ($50).

The service committee will be delivering spring flowers again to several residents in the community.

Santa will be present from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. for pictures and a baby-sitting service will be provided again this year by FBLA; there will be a fee charged for these two services. FBLA will also be available to help exhibitors load and unload.

There will NOT be a ball game on Friday this year, so setup time will be announced at a later date. Saturday morning doors open at 6:30 a.m.
