Memphis Community Players Plan Busy December

The Memphis Community Players have numerous activities planned for the month of December. Their annual Christmas matinee, "Mr. Popper's Penguins" will be held on Saturday, December 17 at 1:30 p.m. There is no admission charge to the Saturday Christmas matinee, but you are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to be shared with those less fortunate.

On December 9 and 10, the Evening on Broadway Troupe will present "The Kind Christmas Visitors". This sequel to the "Watts Family Christmas" will be held at 7:30 p.m. each evening with an $8 admission at the door.

The annual Christmas Cantata presented by the Memphis Community Choir will be held at the Memphis United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 11 at 4:00 p.m. The choir will be performing "Shine on US", a Musical for Christmas. This cantata is the work of David Guthrie and Robert Sterling. There is no admission charge to this concert.

Upcoming movies for the month of December include December 16 - 18: "Breaking Dawn" and December 23 - 25: "Arthur Christmas".

Please join us as we celebrate this holiday season in music and on the big screen.
