MACC Announces Results for 2011 Decorated Lighting Contest
The judging for the 2011 Decorated Lighting Contest sponsored by the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce was held Saturday night, December 17. There were thirteen total entries in the competition.
Each winner for first, second and third place received Memphis Bucks to be used in the Chamber businesses. First prize went to the home of Boyd and Jeannie Bissell at the corner of Jackson and Monroe streets awarding them with $80 in Memphis Bucks. Second place went to the Jeremy and Kara Hamlin home at 352 East Jefferson awarding them with $60 in Memphis Bucks. Third place went to the Anita Cline home at 315 Green Street awarding her with $40 in Memphis Bucks. Other homes entered in the contest were the Dennis Blaine resident on North Lincoln in Memphis; the Robert Quillin residence on Route AA; the Darlene Steeples residence at 806 North Hardman; and the Ralph and Betty Erickson residence on route A north of Gorin.
The winner of the best-decorated business was the Memphis Funeral Home. They will receive a basket of goodies from the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce. Other businesses entered in the contest were Scotland County Pharmacy, Cook's Mens Store, Memphis Theatre, Pepsi-Cola Memphis Bottling Company,
