LETHA WILMA MUSGROVE
(5/24/1922 - 3/28/2011)



Letha Wilma Musgrove, 88, of Memphis, MO passed away at 11:50 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, MO. The daughter of Myron and Ethel Davis Kirkpatrick, Letha was born May 24, 1922 on the family farm in Scotland County, MO.

She attended the Union Grove School for eight years and then graduated from Memphis High School. She married Wayne Musgrove Dec. 24, 1942 in the Methodist parsonage at Memphis, MO by the Rev. W.W. Longstreth. Letha taught at the Union School after her marriage and then farmed with Wayne. She was actively involved in the 4-H as a member and later as a leader. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was also involved in Cedar Grove Club, DAR and the Red Hats. She and Wayne traveled out West for many years. She loved being around friends and family whether it be playing cards, visiting, enjoying birthdays and the holidays.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, parents, one daughter, Linda Lou White, one sister; Ellen Margaret Davidson, and one brother-in-law; Harvey Lee Musgrove.

Surviving are her daughter; Reta Kay Stott (Clifton) of Cantril, IA, one son; Dale Wayne Musgrove (Judy) of Gorin, MO, a son-in-law; Jim White of New London, MO, 7 grandchildren; Britany and Dustyn White of New London, MO, Corey Stott (Ashlee) of Arbela, MO, Travis Stott (Amy) of Memphis, MO, Kirk Stott (Serena) of Salisbury, MO, Amanda Crane and her fiancÚ, James Pilkington of Kahoka, MO, and Cody Musgrove (Deidra) of Gorin, MO, nine great-grandchildren; Jacob Stott, Kylee and Layne Stott, Levi, Mya, and Ava Stott, Jillian and Dawson Crane, and Makenna Musgrove, two brothers; Elmer (Nelda) Kirkpatrick and Lynn (Anna Lynn) Kirkpatrick all of Memphis, MO, a sister; Oleva Chance (Keith) of Memphis, MO, brother-in-law; Walter Davidson of Kirksville, MO, sister-in-law; Joy Musgrove of Gorin, MO, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and one special friend, Wilbur Daniels of Memphis, MO. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Memorials are suggested to the Gorin Cemetery Association and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, MO 63555

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 31, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Gorin, Missouri. Officiating the service was Brother Leland Oliver and Brother Mike Wilson. Interment followed in the Gorin Cemetery at Gorin, Missouri. Musicians were Kathie McPherson and Marsha Davis.

Pallbearers were Dale and Cody Musgrove, Kirk, Travis and Corey Stott and Dustyn White. Honorary Pallbearers were Jim and Britany White, Clifton Stott, and Amanda Musgrove Crane.
