BETTY EBELING
(8/7/1924 - 8/14/2011)

Betty Ebeling, age 87, of Early, TX, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 in Brownwood, TX. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Early First United Methodist Church. Rev. Wayne Lewis and Rev. John Clifford officiated the service. Burial was in Greenleaf Cemetery.

Betty was born August 7, 1924, in Kahoka, MO, to Hiram Lumas and Genolia McCoy. She married Harold Olin Ebeling on November 7, 1942, in Kahoka, MO. Betty and Harold moved to Brownwood, TX in May 1965. She and Harold were members of Brownwood First United Methodist Church for some time and upon moving to Bangs, TX became members at Bangs First United Methodist Church. They ultimately moved back to Early, TX and joined Early First United Methodist Church. Betty sang in the choir at each of the churches where they belonged.

Betty was first and foremost a wife, mother, and homemaker; however, after her children were grown and on their own, she worked at Citizens National Bank of Brownwood, TX for several years before retiring in 1984. In the early years of her retirement, she and Harold enjoyed traveling in a travel trailer and motor home. They spent many winters in the Rio Grande Valley, and made friends from their travels across the country. Betty took great pleasure in many hobbies. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles in her last few years. Betty also had artistic talents such as crocheting and other crafts. She was also an accomplished musician on the organ and piano.

She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Ebeling was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nelda Christine McCoy, who passed away in infancy, her husband Harold Olin Ebeling, and her son Gary Lee Ebeling.

Mrs. Ebeling is survived by a son, Randy Ebeling and wife Linda; two daughters, Nola Kay Miller and Mickey Perkins and Shirley Lewis and husband Wayne; 10 grandchildren, Gary Scott Ebeling, Mary Melissa (Missy) Dean, Adrian Duane Pruett, Angela Kay Goette, Jason Mathew Ebeling, Jeremiah Scott Ebeling, Bethany Joy Garcia, Jenny Marie Ebeling, Michael Wayne Lewis, and Christina Dawn (Christy) Sheedy; and 16 great-grandchildren (with the 17th great-grandchild due in October 2011).
