ESTEL C. KETCHUM
(7/30/1920 - 12/1/2011)



Estel C. Ketchum, 91, of Branson, Missouri, formerly of Downing, Missouri, passed away at the Forsyth Nursing Home in Branson, Missouri on Thursday morning, December 1, 2011. The son of Elis M. and Gertrude Donaldson Ketchum he was born July 30, 1920 in Downing, Missouri.

He married Helen Jean Kincheloe on December 19, 1943 in Hayes, Kansas and to this union two children were born, Jim and Diane.

After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army in W.W. II. He was in the 20th Airforce and served in the C.B.I. and the Pacific theater as a radio and radar operator on the B-29's.

After leaving the service he worked the Montgomery Elevator Co. in Cedar Rapids, owned a Country Kitchen restaurant in Lebanon, Missouri and then he officially retired in late 1980s. He resided in Branson for the last ten years of his life.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 12:00 at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis. Officiating the service was Darrell McReynolds. Interment followed in the Campground Cemetery west of Memphis. Full Military Rites were provided at the graveside by the Wallace W. Gillespie V.F.W. Post # 4958 of Memphis.

Pallbearers were Danielle Jones, Joel, Matt and Philip Ketchum.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.

Memorials are suggested to the Church of the Harvest, 501 West College St., Branson, Missouri 65616, and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555. There was a Memorial service held there on Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.
