CHARLES T. "CHARLIE" GOFF, JR.

Charles T. "Charlie" Goff, Jr., 51, of New London, IA, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Goff was born November 20, 1960 in Burlington, the son of Charles Thomas, Sr. and Judy VanHorn Goff. He married Kathy Jo Burden on July 6, 1991 in Mt. Pleasant, IA. He was a Danville High School graduate and attended auto tech classes at Southeastern Community College. His family moved to Daytona Beach, FL in 2003 and he attended the American Motorcycle Institute. He served in the Army for five years. He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Goff worked in maintenance at Staats and was a certified motorcycle mechanic. He enjoyed his Harley, wrenching and tinkering, his '47 Chevy, rock hunting and geodes, collecting Indian artifacts, and his grandsons.

Mr. Goff is survived by his wife of New London, IA; his father of Memphis, three children, Charles (C.J.) Thomas Goff, III, Shelby Rose Goff, and Haley Jo Goff, all of New London, IA; two grandsons; two brothers, Scott (Deb) Goff of Memphis, and Jeff (Sarah) Goff of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Roxanne (Bill) Langner of Memphis, TN and Rogena (Perry) Stout of Burlington, IA; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents.

An informal Memorial Service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2011 at Elliott Chapel, New London, IA. Visitation began at 9:00 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 10:00 until time of the service. Following the service his body was cremated according to his wishes. A memorial has been established.
