Schuyler County Spoils Senior Night in SCR-I Regular Season Finale

Scotland County bid farewell to a trio of seniors following the regular season finale Friday night in Memphis. The year ended on a down note as SCR-I fell to Schuyler County 71-60.

The Tigers three impending graduates, Dakota Wells, Kasey Dial and Sabe Sears went out with a bang, combining for 36 points on Senior Night.

Wells got the start and opened with five points in the first quarter as SCR-I trailed 13-12 after eight minutes of play.

The Rams pulled away in the second period, outscoring the Tigers 19-11. That eight-point spread was the difference in the contest, as Tigers matched the Rams shot for shot in the third period.

The Tigers got three pointers from Wells, Dial, Cordie Kigar and Drew Miller en route to a 21-point quarter. Dial poured in seven points in the high-octane offense.

Unfortunately, the Rams matched the output and still led 54-44 heading into the final period.

Wells drilled a pair of shots from behind the arc and fellow senior Sears attacked the rim for four points but it was not enough as the Rams held on for the 71-60 win.

The loss ended Scotland County's regular season with a record of 11-12 and 5-5 in the Tri-Rivers Conference.

SCR-I was led in scoring by Wells with 15 points. Dial finished with 13 points and Andrew Mathes added 10 points. Sears pitched in with eight points.
