Tigers Open Track Season With 4th Place Showing at Van Buren County

The Scotland County boys track squad opened the 2011 season by traveling north to the Van Buren Invitational on March 31st. SCR-I brought home fourth place in the AA division with 65 team points. Eddyville Blakesburg was tops with 172 points followed by Keokuk with 122 and Clark County with 92. SCR-I topped West Burlington/Notre Dame, West Hancock and the Fairfield junior varsity squads.

Sabe Sears cleared six feet in the high jump to earn first place points for SCR-I.

Rod Sears took top honors in both the 400-meter and 800-meter runs. Sabe Sears was third in the 400-meter dash. Rod Sears also finished second in the long jump, clearing 18' 4.75 inches.

They were both members of the 4x400 meter relay team that earned second place.

Zach Miller finished fourth in the 200-meter dash and was sixth in the 100-meter dash.

Logan Payne earned fifth place in the 3200 meter run while Lucas Howard was fourth in the 400-meter low hurdles and fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles.

Sabe Sears was fifth in the discus with William Masden earning sixth place. Masden was also sixth in the shot put.
