Shannan Powers Tigers to Third Straight Win

Scotland County had the best of both world's Tuesday night at Linn County as the baseball Tigers bats were filling up the scoreboard while Harley Stone's pitching kept the host squad off the scoreboard all together.

SCR-I posted the 9-0 victory, the team's third straight win. The Tigers jumped on top 2-0 in the top of the first. Drew Miller walked and came around to score on an RBI double by Brock Bondurant. He crossed the plate on a fielder's choice to make it 2-0.

That proved to be all the support Stone needed as he blanked Linn County over seven innings of work. The junior hurler allowed just two hits and walked three while striking out eight.

Scotland County added some insurance in the third inning when Ben Shannan launched a two-run home run. Stone also scored in the frame to make it 5-0 in favor of the Tigers.

SCR-I tacked on three more runs in the sixth inning courtesy of RBI hits by Dakota Wells, Levi Woollums and Cordie Kigar.

Shannan doubled and scored in the top of the seventh to make the final score 9-0. He went 2-4 with three RBI to pace the offense. Miller was 2-3 with two runs scored.
