Smith Leads Lady Tigers in Track Season Debut

Loren Smith brought home one top finish and was an inch shy of another as the Scotland County girls track team opened the 2011 season on April 5th in Bloomfield at the Davis County Relays.

The junior won the discus with a throw of 93'9". She finished second in the shot put with a throw of 34'6", one inch off the top finish.

The Lady Tigers earned third place in the 4x800 meter relay ran by Abbey Duley, Kiley Frazier, Ashley Tague and Sarah Sites in a time of 11:57.358.

Duley picked up fourth place points for SCR-I in the 400-meter dash while Tague took fifth place in the long jump clearing 12'10". Kristie Parrish finished fifth in the 3,000 meter run.

Scotland County's 4x400 meter relay team of Sites, Duley, Frazier and Anna Hirner was fourth.

The 4x100 meter team also took fourth place. It consisted of Ashley Curry, Desera Knupp, Kara Childress and Smith.

Frazier, Hirner, Curry and Sites teamed up to earn fourth place in the shuttle hurdle relay.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Sites, Curry, Paige McClamroch and Knupp finished fifth.
