Scotland County Hosts Junior High Track Meet

Scotland County hosted a junior high track meet on Monday, May 2nd. The Tigers finished tied for second while the Lady Tigers were sixth.

The Milan boys claimed first place with 118 points. SCR-I tied with the Clark County red team with 79 points, followed by Putnam County (67), Knox County (51), Canton (20), Schuyler County(16) and the Clark County white team (3).

The Clark County red team was tops in girls action with 134 points. Knox County was second with 70 points followed by Putnam County (64), Schuyler County (49), Milan (44), SCR-I (40), Canton (15) and Clark County white team (15).

Bailey Johnston earned first place in the discus with a throw of 111' 3/4". He also was fourth in the shot put.

Zachary Doubet earned second place in the 1,600 meter run and was third in the long jump.

Caleb Doubet took third place in the 400 meter dash and Joseph Hite was third in the 800 meter dash. Zach Curry finished fourth in the 1,600 meter run and was fifth in the 800 meter run.

The Tigers took first in the 4x200 meter relay and earned second in the 4x100 meter relay while earning third place points in the 4x400 meter relay.

Top performers for SCR-I in the girls meet were Miranda Holland, Randi Slaughter and Renay Friendshuh.

Slaughter was third in both the 200-meter dash and the triple jump. Holland was fourth in the shot put and sixth in the 100-meter dash. Friendshuh earned fourth in the 1,600 meter run while taking sixth in the 75-meter hurdles.

The Lady Tigers 4x200 team finished second and the 4x100 meter relay team was sixth.

Brieanna Priebe was fifth in the 200-meter dash. Kylee Johnston was sixth in the 400-meter dash. Mazy Gray finished sixth in the 800-meter dash.
