Tigers Finish Second at Class 2 District 4 Track Meet

With just 13 team members, Scotland County's squad was one of the smallest amongst the 17-team field at the Missouri Class 2 District 4 track meet held at Brookfield on May 7th. That didn't stop SCR-I from bringing home the second place trophy as the Tigers garnered 72 points, second only to Centralia's 94.5.

The Tigers finished ahead of perennial powerhouses Macon (71.5), Brookfield (63.66), and Clark County (60).

Lucas Howard played a key role in the surprise finish. The freshman crossed the finish line first in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 43.39 seconds to earn 10 points. He just edged Clark County's Dalton McCarty who was .05 seconds off the pace.

The Tigers 4x400 meter relay team of Howard, Sabe Sears, Zach Miller and Rod Sears also brought home a first place finish in a time of 3:36.32. That was four seconds faster than runner-up Centralia.
