Tigers Boys Basketball Camp Set for July 11-13

As the little league season heads into the final stretch, youngsters can start turning their attention to basketball. Scotland County R-I will host the annual Tigers Boys Basketball Camp July 11-13 for student athletes entering grades 1-8.

The camp will be broken into two sessions, with students entering grades 1-4 meeting from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the high school gym. The second session for students entering grades 5-8 will meet daily from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The cost of the camp is $15. Athletes will receive a camp T-shirt in addition to instruction in basketball fundamentals.

"I encourage all the boys entering grades 1-8 to give basketball a serious chance," said Coach Lance Campbell. "Last year there were 27 youth athletes in grades 3-6 who participated in the Youth Basketball League. I would like nothing more than to see that number increase in the future."

Registration forms are available at the school. For more information contact Campbell at 660-465-2909. Preferred deadline for entry is June 30th.
