Creek Tosses No Hitter in Tourney Opener

Megan Creek tossed a no-hitter versus Milan in the team's opener at the Schuyler County Tournament on Saturday.

A big fourth inning helped Scotland County break open a 1-1 tie and roll to an opening round victory over Milan in Saturday's Schuyler County Tournament. SCR-I batted around in the bottom of the fourth to plate 7-1 runs en route to the 8-1 win.

SCR-I went ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the second. Katie Howard singled and came around to score on a squeeze bunt by Kiley Frazier.

Milan tied the game in the top of the fourth with and unearned run off starter Megan Creek.

But the bats came to life in the bottom of the frame. Frazier started the rally with a double. After a base hit by Elizabeth Duzan and a walk to Creek loaded the bases, Slaughter drove in two runs with a double. Bethany Rader cleared the bases with a triple. She scored on a ground out by Brianna Priebe. Loren Smith singled before Hailey Dial reached on an error. A walk to Howard loaded the bases. A walk to Frazier forced in a run with the final tally crossing the plate when Duzan was hit by a pitch.

Creek notched the victory, allowing one unearned run in six innings of work. She held Milan without a hit, while walking one and striking out seven.
