The third time was the charm for Scotland County, as the Lady Tigers knocked off Knox County in the third meeting between the two teams, helping Scotland County advance to the title game of the Schuyler County Tournament on Saturday.

After falling to the Eagles twice this season already, Scotland County extracted some revenge with a 4-3 win.

The Lady Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Megan Creek tripled to start the contest. She scored on a ground out by Bethany Rader to make it 1-0.

A home run by Elizabeth Duzan in the second inning pushed the lead to 2-0.

Knox County pulled ahead 3-2 in the top of the third with a two-out rally off starter Bethany Rader.

SCR-I left the bases loaded in the bottom of the frame but finally regained the lead in the fifth inning. Rader reached on an error. With two outs, Loren Smith extended the inning with a base hit. Hailey Dial and Katie Howard delivered clutch RBI singles to put their team on top 4-3.

Knox County had a runner on third with one out in the sixth inning before Rader struck out the final two batters to seal the 4-3 victory in a game called after six innings due to the time limit.

Rader notched the pitching win, allowing three runs on four hits. She walked one and hit one batter while striking out 10.

Smith went 2-3 at the plate to pace the offense. Katie Howard had a big day with the bat, going 2-3 with the game winning RBI. Duzan was 1-3 with a homerun.
