Redmon Praises Efforts Made for NEMO Day

A large delegation from Scotland County represented the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce and Scotland County Hospital at a recent event in Jefferson City. Community members attended the "Fall in Love with Northeast Missouri" legislative event on February 13-14. Many northeast Missouri communities were present at the event, and representatives from those communities had the chance to showcase what their communities offer to Missouri legislators, and discuss legislative priorities. Seventy-five legislators attended the event. The event showcased a number of businesses & organizations from counties including Scotland, Schuyler, Clark, Adair, Knox, Lewis, Macon, Marion, Randolph, Chariton, Ralls, Monroe and Montgomery. Pictured (L to R) are Travis Mathes, Harlo Donelson, Representative Craig Redmon, Paul Campbell, Bill Kiddoo, Rick Fischer, Kathy Kiddoo & Alisa Kigar (not pictured: Ron, Marie & Brandon Alexander and Stan & Bev Myers).

Jefferson City, MO - On February 13 the first Northeast Missouri Day was held at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, MO.

This event was organized to make legislators aware of the benefits that Northeast Missouri provides for the state.

There were many organizations in attendance to represent the Northeast Region of Missouri. All eighteen booths available were booked and dozens of groups helped sponsor the event.

Many State Senators and Representatives were in attendance and all of them had questions and comments for those representing Northeast Missouri.

Representative Craig Redmon, who helped organize the event, would like to thank all of those people who made this event possible. There are already plans underway for having this event again next year in Jefferson City. If you are interested in participating in next year's Northeast Missouri Day contact his office at (573) 751-3644.
