Arbela Woman Lifeflighted From Knox County Accident Scene

An Arbela woman was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Knox County on Monday. The crash occurred at 2:28 p.m. on Missouri Highway 11, 3.5 miles west of Baring.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mandi L. Bulen, 28, was westbound in a 2000 Chevrolet when she attempted to pass a westbound 2004 Pontiac van driven by Kandi M. Hale, 52, of Milan.

As Bulen attempted to overtake the van, her vehicle struck the left side of the van. Bulen's vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Hale's van traveled off the left side of the roadway where it overturned.

Bulen was transported by Air Evac helicopter to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Hale was not injured in the crash.
