J & J Ag Day Produces Successful Annual Fundraiser at TRGC

The annual fall fundraiser at Timber Ridge Golf Course had a new name in 2012, courtesy of sponsors J & J Ag of Memphis, but the traditional four-player scramble golf tournament produced its usual results, raising several thousand dollars for the local course.

A total of 18 teams took part in the tournament on Friday, September 14th.

The team sponsored by MLRS Construction took top honors with a score of 54, which was 14 under par. Team Doggy Boy was second with a score of 59, winning a tie-breaker with the Exchange Bank of Northeast Missouri team, which also finished nine under par.

The A flight victory went to the Hinds Realty team, which won a tiebreaker with Boyer Construction and the Canton Three team. All three squads finished with scores of 63.

A number of prizes were given away on the day for various hole contests. No one was able to cash in on the $7,500 prize for a hole in one on number three, sponsored by SC Vending. That was the case on hole number 8, where Goob's Sales and Service had sponsored a prize of a new golf cart.

Other prize sponsors included Memphis Lumber, Golden Eagle Distributing, The Catfish Place, Keith's Cafe, Memphis Democrat, Gas and More, Helena, State Farm Insurance, American Family Insurance, and Community Bank of Memphis.

Dawn Miller won the putting contest and the $100 grand prize courtesy of Scotland County Farm Bureau Insurance and agent Greg Shelley. Jason Middleton was second.
