Medical Condition Causes Crash

A Baring man was transported by ambulance Friday evening after a medical condition led to a one-vehicle accident in Knox County at 5:15 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Donald R. Bruegenhemke, 28, was southbound in a 2005 Chevy Equinox on Knox County Road 12, three miles northwest of Baring, when he suffered a medical issue. The vehicle drove off the left side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

Bruegenhemke was uninjured in the crash, but was transported by Knox County Ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The vehicle sustained minor damage in the crash.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Knox County Fire and Rescue and the ambulance service.
